ABOUT THIS LESSON
In this lesson we'll be taking a look at the different ways in which the Male Figure can be interpreted as a simple, foundational structure.
Coming up with a base model for the Male Figure makes it easier to imagine how it might look in different poses that are presented from a variety of angles.
It also allows us to capture the proportions, pose and placement for our characters, without getting lost in the weeds of complex anatomy and design too early on in the process.
What you'll learn in this lesson is that there's more than one way to interpret the male figure on a simplified level - some you'll find easier to use, and others that may be more difficult depending on your level of experience.
The ability to simplify human anatomy lies at the crux of figure drawing. With this skill, you'll be able to think about and draw your male characters in a much more optimized and accurate way.
