Foreshortening can be difficult to figure out for many artists. We know what can be achieved when we learn how to use it of course - page popping, dynamic poses for our characters that have an incredible amount of depth and dimension!
Learning what Foreshortening is, understanding it and using it effectively is the biggest hurdle to jump over before we get to that point though.
In this lesson you'll get an in-depth introduction to foreshortening, and discover the basic principles that make it work.
Specifically, we'll take a look at the effects foreshortening has on the shape of form, it's proportions and how it can both obstruct and be obstructed.
After going through this lesson you'll have the ability to foreshorten basic forms with established proportions and secondary surface forms - prepping you the foreshortening of characters and other complex subject matter!
